VolunteerMatch Engages Prometheus Real Estate Group's Prometheans in Volunteer Service Through the 'POrCH' Program

SAN MATEO, Calif., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Prometheus Real Estate Group, Inc., has partnered with VolunteerMatch, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting good people with good causes.  The partnership will help engage 620 "Prometheans" to participate in volunteer opportunities throughout the United States through the Prometheus Outreach and Community Help program, also known as POrCH. With VolunteerMatch's business service, Prometheus' entire workforce can now access the VolunteerMatch network of nearly 70,000 nonprofit volunteer organizations to receive a list of volunteer opportunities based on individual interests and ZIP code.

Prometheus Real Estate Group, Inc., founded in 1965, has consistently donated to a nonprofit charitable foundation, focused on education, the arts and health care. Prometheans are granted eight paid hours every year to participate in volunteer activities that they find through VolunteerMatch's extensive list or other approved volunteer opportunities they are passionate about. Prometheans can easily access the listing of all activities through the company intranet and sign-up with a few clicks of a mouse. 

The POrCH Program was launched in late May 2010. Prometheus communities in each of the 6 regions will launch POrCH in their own unique way. Some of the launch projects include building a home with Habitat for Humanity in Seattle to restoring marshlands located behind a Prometheus community in South Jordan, Utah.
