Vonage Mobile Technology Selected to Power BYOD Solution for Enterprises
HOLMDEL, N.J., Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Vonage Holdings Corp. (NYSE: VG), a leading provider of communication services connecting consumers and businesses through cloud-connected devices worldwide, announces it has been selected to provide the communications functionality for the Dell Business Phone unveiled today.
The Dell Business Phone powered by Vonage Business Solutions™ is offered through Dell Enterprise Mobility Management. It is a rapidly deployed, wireless carrier agnostic and scalable communications service for any size enterprise. The cloud-based solution provides a separate business line on personal smartphones and tablets, allowing companies to seamlessly transition into BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) with increased security and control while saving on IT expenses.
"Vonage is pleased to team with Dell Software to help companies save time, money and valuable resources by transitioning from traditional telecom services to highly-flexible, feature-rich Internet-based communications," said Wain Kellum, president of Vonage Business Solutions. "With Dell Business Phone, we're enabling increased employee mobility, flexibility and productivity through the use of their own devices for all forms of business communications."
"Vonage Business Solutions provides the ideal platform to help Dell Software address BYOD's challenges, especially when it comes to increased employee mobility and IT costs," said Neal Foster, executive director of mobility and integrated solutions for Dell Software. "Vonage Business Solutions' proven, reliable and scalable cloud-based communications platform, combined with Vonage's deep mobile expertise, allowed us to develop this new solution, enabling businesses to move into BYOD with confidence."
The migration of businesses to hosted cloud-based communications systems is driven by the desire to cut costs while increasing flexibility and efficiency. The Dell Business Phone powered by Vonage Business Solutions is an example of how enterprises of all sizes can use cloud communications to reduce expenses, while helping employees to increase productivity with a high quality, feature-rich solution for business communication.
Diane Myers, principal analyst at Infonetics, commented "we are seeing large enterprises moving to cloud-based communications. Drivers include reducing the burden of managing the constant upgrade cycles, having access to continued enhanced capabilities, simplified management, and the ability to support a large number of locations and remote and mobile employees with a common platform."
Vonage continues to leverage its mobile technology across its branded offerings to create greater utility of services, enabling consumers and businesses to communicate whenever they want, wherever they are and from whatever device they chose. And now, through the introduction of the Dell Business Phone, Vonage's technology is being used to power third-party communications solutions.
The Dell Business Phone, which is delivered through Dell Mobile Workspace, the secure, managed enterprise workspace within Dell Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM), will be available in October 2014. The solution is ideally suited for businesses of all sizes, providing an array of features for work-related communications, including voice, individual and group text messaging, call recording, conference calling and three-way calling, while securing enterprise phone data and extending call coverage over Wi-Fi to help businesses control costs. Using VoIP over Wi-Fi can eliminate international long-distance and roaming charges and greatly reduce both cellular voice minutes and expensive mobile data usage.
Vonage Business Solutions is the fastest growing major hosted cloud communications provider in the small and medium business segment with more than a 50% revenue growth rate year-over-year. Using its mobile technology and cloud-based communications platform to power third-party solutions, like the Dell Business Phone, allows the Company to enter the large enterprise market.
