Wahed Invest Inc. Appoints Khalid Yousaf as COO to Lead MENA Expansion

NEW YORK, Oct. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Wahed Invest Inc., the New York based Islamic Robo-advisory firm, announced today the appointment of Mr. Khalid Yousaf as the Chief Operating Officer. Prior to his appointment at Wahed, Khalid was with KPMG serving as its Director of Islamic Finance & Financial Advisory Services. Other notable positions previously held by Khalid include: Director of Islamic Finance at Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), Managing Director of Bank of America in London and VP at Citibank in six different countries in various senior roles. In his role as Director of DIFC, Khalid was responsible for developing a unique value proposition and attracting Islamic Financial Institutions to operate from the DIFC platform.

Khalid has been brought onboard to lead the initiative for global institutional partnerships. He will also oversee the development of an Islamic pension offering for the MENA region, where private sector employee pension plans are in great demand.
