WatchGuard Technologies Extends Ground Breaking Real-Time Network Security Visibility Tool to Microsoft's Hyper-V Platform

SEATTLE, Jan. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- WatchGuard® Technologies, a leader in integrated security platforms, today announced it is enhancing its real-time network security visibility solution, WatchGuard Dimension™, which has already helped drive record financial results for the company in Q4 2013.  The new enhancements extend Dimension's capabilities to support Microsoft's Hyper-V virtualization platform, in addition to VMware, and also increase scalability, availability and visibility.

U.S.-based Oasis Technologies is an example of one such customer.  A Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP), Oasis is already running WatchGuard Dimension on Hyper-V, and using the tool's executive reports as an additional reporting service for its clients. "Dimension's executive reports have become an additional revenue stream for our company because they're generated in real time, they can be automated, and they provide our MSSP customers with an immediate snapshot of the top users, threats and compliance issues facing their company," said Tony Lara, senior network engineer at Oasis Technologies. "The information is at our finger tips, it's easy to use and understand, and it changes the game in regard to the type of data we can provide to our customers and how quickly we can do so."

WatchGuard Dimension is delivered as a free virtual appliance for XTM customers, which simplifies set up. The latest update includes faster access and increased scalability with external and shared database support.  It also improves visibility with dynamic hostname resolution, and native language support for key countries will be available toward the end of Q1.
