Equipped with Swiss Quartz Movement, a sapphire crystal face and an English calf leather wrist band, the Wristlet watch stands miles apart from modern watches. The construction of this watch is beautiful, enhanced by the contrast stitching of its leather band. The Wristlet watch, a first of its kind in the modern era, brings back the classic design of wrist watches from the 19th century, which serves as the foundation of all modern-day wrist watches.

Developed by Waves Design Studio of Los Angeles, California, this watch is a result of extensive research, design experience and a deep passion for the art of watch-making.
"I love watches, but most watches look the same these days and the idea was to design something rather unique," said Munish Sethi, co-founder of Waves.
Their inspiration stems from the 19th century, when the majority of men used pocket watches to keep time. It is the re-working of a time period, a re-creation of that 19th-century legendary design of wrist strap, which 100 years ago was referred to as the Wristlet, that was first used to house pocket watches for ease of use when checking time during the Boer War era.
Sethi explained, "The biggest issue with the pocket watch wristlet was the size. As the pocket watches are normally in the range of 50mm or more, the wristlets were about 60mm, which is too big for most wrists. We wanted to ensure our watches fit, and look perfect on a wrist."
Wristlet watches are available in two sizes, 45mm and 37mm.
"We believe the look of a watch is just as important as its quality," Sethi added. "We designed a watch that consumers would want to wear; a timepiece that blends History with Style. Everyone is free to express their own style through a variety of color choices that we are providing in leather wristlet bands."
The Wristlet Watch is not only unique in styling but also functions as a quality watch. It features a Ronda Swiss Quartz movement, 316L Stainless Steel Case and Sapphire Crystal. The Swiss Movement is highly regarded and respected around the world for its precision and quality.
Plus, its interchangeable design allows experimenting one dial with different color leather straps. The leather used in these straps is very high quality vegetable-tanned calfskin imported from England's Sedgwick tannery. The leather straps are available in four colors: Brown, Dark Brown, Tan and Black.
Waves Design Studio is raising funds for their Wristlet Watch through a KickStarter campaign with special pre-release pricing of $89 for the first 100 people. The product is targeted for wide release in Q2 2014, for $149 (MSRP).
