Wavestone US is based in New York City, with 50+ consultants from 12 nationalities focusing on providing independent, fact-based advice and guidance to the world's leading retail and investment banks, asset managers, insurance companies and consumer finance firms. The office operates as a major hub delivering several capabilities for the group, from US regulatory insight to banks' advisory to technology strategy and cybersecurity.
Not less than 20 positions are offered at Wavestone US in 2017-2018, from Business Analysts to Senior Managers. At undergraduate or MBA level, the company recruits students from Cornell, New York University and Columbia but also from Princeton, Rutgers or Boston College. At a more senior experience level (i.e. senior consultant, manager and senior manager positions), Wavestone is looking for talents who earned their stripes within Big 4 consultancies or major financial services firms.
As a small and close-knit team, information is shared from the management all the way to entry-level employees through team meetings and focus groups where smaller groups of ~10 employees have open discussions on firm-related topics.
In addition to dedicated work-life balance programs, "intrapreneurship" is encouraged within the company. Employees can launch and manage internal projects as well, like Women of Wavestone (WoW). The group is self-organized with a charter to increase the female footprint within the company. Since early 2017, Wavestone US has increased its gender ratio from 15% to 21% females and intends to keep up the trend.
Social activities are also offered to Wavestone consultants such as Happy Hours, the annual Summer Party or team-building trips, in addition to the worldwide annual solidarity day called "Powerday", where employees are encouraged to volunteer their support to associations and foundations carrying out civil-society and environmental actions. Volunteers can participate in skills-sponsorship or in-the-field activities.
"Each and every employee is very committed to the success of Wavestone and of our clients. Through internal activities and our involvement with the community, we were successful in instantiating the core values of the firm; I am glad we created a team of happy and entrepreneurial employees which enables the rapid expansion of Wavestone in the US" concludes Julien Bonnay, Managing Partner and Head of Wavestone in the USA.
