We Energies named America's best at keeping the lights on

MILWAUKEE, Nov. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- We Energies has received the 2017 ReliabilityOne™ National Reliability Award for superior reliability of its electric system. This is the third time the company has been recognized as the most reliable utility in America. We Energies also won the ReliabilityOne National Award in 2004 and 2013.

Each year, PA Consulting Group recognizes energy companies that deliver the most reliable electric service to their customers. PA Consulting names six regional award winners and one national winner.

Besides the National Award, We Energies also received – for the seventh year in a row – the Award for Outstanding Reliability Performance in the Midwest region.  We Energies has been recognized by PA Consulting as the most reliable utility in the Midwest 10 out of the past 12 years.

All companies operating electric delivery networks in North America are eligible for the ReliabilityOne Award. The selection is based primarily on statistics that measure the frequency and duration of customer outages. After initial recipients are identified, each potential winner undergoes an on-site certification process, which provides an independent review of the processes and systems used to collect, analyze and report a company's reliability results.

PA Consulting also honored Principal Engineer Val Werner with an Outstanding Personal Achievement Award. Werner has worked at We Energies for 27 years and is a founding member of the company's reliability engineering team. He has held key roles in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and co-authored numerous research reports, one of which received a national award.
