WHY: Members of Local 78 will be participating in a series of mock weddings between key officials and trustees of Continuum Health Partners and banned contractor New York Insulation. New York Insulation recently completed a project for Continuum at St Luke's Hospital, while under investigation by the Nassau District Attorney. While work was processing at St Luke's, Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice, found New York Insulation guilty of violating New York State prevailing wage laws, and overtime laws, and banned New York Insulation from all future work on publicly funded projects. Continuum Health Partners ignored all the warning signs that New York Insulation was a bad contractor and jeopardized the health and safety of workers, the public and the patients at St Luke's.
