DENVER, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Furniture Row Companies will open new Weekends @ Furniture Row stores in Green Bay/Ashwaubenon and Appleton/Grand Chute next month. Green Bay and Appleton will be two of six markets nationwide to unveil the innovative retail format for Furniture Row: a weekends-only, high-volume furniture store featuring a new selection of first-quality merchandise each week at discounts up to 70 percent off comparable merchandise at other retailers.
"As one of the nation's largest furniture retailers and the largest cash buyer of furniture in the country, Furniture Row has unparalleled buying power," explained Bill McKendry, marketing director for Furniture Row Companies. "A lot of stores say they offer deep discounts. Weekends @ Furniture Row is uniquely positioned to offer true savings of up to 70 percent."
Catering to strong consumer trends to shop for furniture on weekends, the stores will be open only Fridays through Sundays. By bringing in new merchandise each week, Weekends @ Furniture Row will offer customers the experience of shopping virtually a new store each time they stop in.
The stores will carry a fresh inventory of name-brand home furnishings, accessories and mattresses from factory closeouts, overstocks and special or limited purchases, all available for immediate pick up or delivery. The new Weekends @ Furniture Row will retain the convenience of the Furniture Row Shopping Centers, with four specialty stores each focused on a distinct category: fine wood dining, entertainment and home office furnishings; sofas and upholstered furniture and accent pieces; bedroom furniture and accessories; and mattresses.
The Weekends @ Furniture Row stores will be located at the sites of the current Furniture Row Shopping Centers at 2594 S. Oneida in Ashwaubenon and 1480 N. Colorado in Grand Chute. The grand opening for both stores will be Fri., Nov. 5. The current centers will be closed Oct. 31– Nov. 4 to prepare for the grand opening.
Over the same weekend, Furniture Row will launch Weekends @ Furniture Row in four other markets, including Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, MI; Jonesboro, AR; and St. George, UT.
"We chose a great mix of communities and store types to launch this concept," said McKendry. "We're very excited about what we consider to be a 'winning formula' for our customers. The combination of lowest price, first-quality furniture, fresh selection, immediate availability and convenient weekend hours is exactly what we believe the customer wants."
