Wei Chen to Make Historic Flight Through China

HONG KONG, July 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Despite mother nature, mechanical difficulties and the constant pressure of flying into unknown skies, a man is about to make history as the first Chinese Citizen to fly around the world in a single engine plane.

Mr. Wei Chen, a successful businessman and adventurer, is the founder and owner of Sunshine Enterprises, a company with offices in China and the US. 

Only 166 people have accomplished flying around the world in a small plane. But in another historic feat, Mr. Chen will be the first person to have flown across China in doing so.

Halfway thru his journey, which originated from Memphis, TN, USA, Mr. Chen will take off on July 7th, from Hong Kong and arrive in Changsha, some 3 hours later, where his hometown, friends and family eagerly await his arrival. From Changsha, Mr. Chen's plan has stops including Xian, Beijing and Harbin, as he brings his hope for Chinese Civil Aviation to the citizens of China.

Endorsed by the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and AOPA China, Mr. Chen looks forward to working with Chinese Aviation Authorities while he develops the technical procedures and protocol involved in flying China's uncharted civil aviation skies.
