WellPoint and Subsidiary National Government Services Commemorate Veterans Day With Contributions and Support

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- WellPoint, Inc. (NYSE: WLP) and its subsidiary, National Government Services, Inc. (NGS) announce several upcoming events to mark our continued dedication to veterans and their families.

• WellPoint is donating $50,000 to the USO.  The donation will be used to lift the spirits of America's troops and their families during the holiday season.
• WellPoint has been selected as one of G.I. Jobs magazine's Top 100 Military-Friendly Employers for 2012.  The accomplishment highlights the involvement of WellPoint and National Government Services associates in the Veterans' Organization of WellPoint (VOW) Associate Resource Group, which is committed to building bridges to allow military personnel to transition into and succeed in both organizations.
• In addition to the monetary donation to the USO, the VOW Associate Resource Group is creating and shipping care packages to Veterans during the holiday season.
• Associates from WellPoint and National Government Services will honor veterans at ceremonies across the country on Veterans Day, November, 11.  In Virginia, a flag raising ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.  Associates in Indiana will be marching in the Veterans' Day Parade in Downtown Indianapolis on Veterans Day, November 11.
