WellPoint Names Kate Quinn Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

INDIANAPOLIS, March 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- WellPoint (NYSE: WLP) announced today that Kate Quinn has been named senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Quinn is an industry veteran with more than 15 years of experience in corporate marketing, product development, research and intelligence, and brand strategy. She most recently served as vice president of corporate marketing for WellPoint. She held several leadership roles at PacifiCare Health Systems, The Hartford Financial Services Group and CIGNA before joining WellPoint in 2005.

In her new role, Quinn will be responsible for leading all marketing initiatives across WellPoint's business segments including brand strategy, advertising, health care reform and customer communications, and market research.

Quinn received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College, City University of New York.  She also holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
