
Wes Bleed Joins Mack Communications
Former WGN newsman and campaign spokesman adds experience, credibility
WOODRIDGE, Ill., March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Mack Communications, a Chicago-based public affairs and public relations firm, announced today that former WGN Radio News Director Wes Bleed has joined the company as a vice president. Bleed was most recently Communications Director for Republican Kirk Dillard's campaign for Illinois governor.

For the past 25 years, Bleed, 51, could be heard reporting and anchoring the news on WGN Radio. He served as assignment editor, assistant news director and news director. For many years, Wes was host of Dateline 720, a "live" weekly public affairs program. He also could be heard nationally as a contributing reporter for the ABC Radio Network.

Mack was the Chicago press secretary for former Illinois Governor Jim Edgar. He also worked for Edgar when Edgar was Illinois Secretary of State. Mack started his own firm in 1996, specializing in public affairs and media relations consulting.
Bleed joined the Dillard campaign last year. He served as campaign spokesman and was responsible for speech-writing, press relations and campaign web site content. He begins his new duties immediately.
Wes is a 1980 graduate of Wheaton College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication.
