Wanderlei Silva is a Brazilian mixed martial artist, who has competed in Japan's Pride Fighting Championships and the American based Ultimate Fighting Championship. Silva is known for his aggressive fighting style with the majority of his fights ending in knockout or referee stoppage due to strikes.

Silva's vast following spans far beyond American mixed martial arts fans. Wanderlei Silva is beloved in countries such as Japan and especially in his native country of Brazil, where he is hailed as a national hero.
