West Penn Allegheny Health System Expands Agreement With Allscripts for Access to Complete Portfolio of Solutions
PITTSBURGH, June 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) today announced it has expanded its relationship with Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX), awarding the company a multi-year contract to provide its full suite of clinical, financial and physician solutions and services for its hospitals, clinics, physician practices and post-acute care settings.
The enterprise agreement provides WPAHS and its affiliates with an efficient, scalable and financially flexible technology platform to support its inpatient, clinic, and community physician initiatives. WPAHS, a customer of both Allscripts and Eclipsys predating their merger, unified its legacy agreements and extended its contract with Allscripts through its fiscal year 2018. This new contract will enhance WPAHS technological and clinical capabilities to improve the health of the people in Western Pennsylvania.
Under the agreement, WPAHS will continue to utilize the industry-leading Sunrise Enterprise™ suite of acute care clinical solutions from Allscripts and will phase in a wide range of other Allscripts software solutions. WPAHS will continue rolling out the Allscripts Electronic Health Record (EHR) to its employed physicians across the Pittsburgh region. Additionally, WPAHS will provide its 2,000 affiliated physicians the opportunity to purchase Allscripts MyWay™ solution, an ARRA-certified, cloud-based Electronic Health Record and practice management solution for physicians in independent practice. WPAHS plans to utilize the integrated and interoperable Allscripts software catalog to improve the delivery and quality of care throughout Western Pennsylvania and to help WPAHS and its affiliated physicians attain all stages of ARRA Meaningful Use criteria.
WPAHS now has access to a full range of Allscripts solutions and services, including Sunrise Patient Financials™; Sunrise Radiology; Sunrise Clinical Analytics; Sunrise EPSi™ Budget Manager; Sunrise Enterprise Registration; Sunrise Enterprise Scheduling; Sunrise Mobile MD; Allscripts Homecare; Allscripts Care Management; and Allscripts Referral Management.
