NEW YORK, Aug. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Rich Whalen is joining McCann Erickson New York as Senior VP, Director of Project Leadership, a new post for McCann. Rich comes from RAPP Worldwide where he helped develop RAPP's digital offering as well as its project management discipline, which he went on to lead for the NY office. At McCann, Whalen will help ensure the agency's successful refocus to a more collaborative and agile approach to client businesses.

Other talent added within the last few months includes Andreas Dahlqvist and Natalie Lam, both global creative stars, whose digital work ranks among the world's most respected and awarded.
At RAPP Worldwide, Whalen rose to SVP, Head of Delivery, leading the Integrated Production Group, Technology, and Integrated Services of the NY flagship office. He started with RAPP Digital as a producer, becoming the company's first Director of Project Management when the company began to gain digital momentum in 2005. He then took on the Head of Delivery role, across all capabilities with a focus on digital marketing, and standardized all resource allocation processes, helping embed project management across the agency. He has run successful projects for digital, broadcast, print, crm, for clients that include Bank of America, British Airways, Travel Channel, FoodTV, Phillips, NY Knicks, Mercedes Benz, as well as Merck, Humana, Pfizer, GSK, Bayer and Novartis. Whalen started his career with agency.com in project management.
Whalen's responsibilities at McCann will include continuing to build upon the agency's project leadership discipline, ensuring that all agency teams have the appropriate people, systems, knowledge and resources needed, and guiding project partners and managers. Additionally, he will provide oversight to project teams in all executional aspects of clients' campaigns from strategy to final delivery. Ultimately he will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are on-time, on-budget, profitable and meet client-agency expectations.
