"What The Film?!" Rises from the Rubble of Hurricane Irma

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- While helping with cleanup in Ft. Myers, Florida, from Hurricane Irma and after chain sawing trees all day, unable to fall asleep in their tent at night, neighbors Alex Mackey and Mike Szalajko came up with the idea of What The Film?! a party game about making movies and backstabbing friends.

Returning to Orlando after helping with the massive cleanup efforts, Mackey and Szalajko partnered up to form the company Lethal Chicken Games and finished creating What The Film?!.

What The Film?! a party game. make movies. backstab friends. From Lethal Chicken Games comes a new party game where players combine a actor, plot and set card from their hand of cards to create a hilarious movie. What The Film?! is available on Kickstarter on February 13, 2018.

Some of the Actor cards are actual people and celebrities, such as Donnie Demers who is indeed a double platinum songwriter. Other celebrities making an appearance in the game include: Greg Louganis, Dr. Judy, The Piano Guys, Cheryl Tiegs and even Paula Abdul. Combine an actor, plot and set card to create a hilarious movie. Then everyone votes on their favorite movie.

"We wanted to create a game that was not just fun, but beautiful," said Mackey, co-creator of What The Film?!. "So instead of having just words on a card, we commissioned over 200 pieces of art to add to the cards."

"We also added some fun, hidden gems in the game, incorporating people we've enjoyed working with in the past. Not to give too much away, but Greg Louganis and The Piano Guys each have their own card in the game. And there are several more," Szalajko said.

Players combine three cards--actor, plot and set--to create a movie mashup such as a mailman, travels back in time, in a bouncy castle. Players then pitch their best movie to the group and all players vote on their favorite movie. The player with the most votes wins that round. The person with the most points at the end of six rounds wins the game. If a player is not as creative or funny as their counterparts, industry cards can be used to sabotage and steal points.

With award show season in full swing, and Hollywood Game Nights increasing in the mainstream, What The Film?! gives players the ability to join the increasing popularity of the merge of tabletop games and Hollywood glam.

"It's been hilarious to see really introverted people come out of their shell when playing the game," Szalajko said.

What The Film?! is on Kickstarter beginning February 13, 2018 and then will be sold nationwide.
