Where Will Both JStreet and The David Project be Seen This Weekend? LimmudBoston!
BOSTON, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The first LimmudBoston takes place this weekend, October 30-31, 2010, at Temple Israel of Boston. Based on LimmudUK, (Limmud is Hebrew for "study"), LimmudBoston is a volunteer-run communiversity, a happening, a Jewish learningfest of culture and identity.
According to Steffi Aronson Karp, Conference Chair, "At LimmudBoston, there is an infectious spirit of volunteerism and togetherness. Everyone is a learner; and everyone can be a presenter. Lots of brain power—and lots of respect."
LimmudBoston offers inspiration and education for seasoned seekers and the casually curious. Discuss, experience, listen, watch, and wonder--in workshops that explore lifecycle, Israel, spirituality and identity. Dance and clap; sing and shop; bake and taste!
Saturday night starts with a concert by famed musician, Julie Silver, followed by four performance options, including film, a songwriter showcase, storytellers and a play, "The Black Jew Dialogues."
All day Sunday there are over 120 one-hour session choices between 9 am and 6 pm, including Cool Chavruta (paired Talmud study), text and thought, politics, lifecycle, movement, music and meditation. The hardest part of the day is making choices!
The LimmudBoston 2010 program may be found online at www.LimmudBoston.org. It includes:
- Ruth Messinger on repairing the world
- Harold Kushner, on the 23rd Psalm
- JStreet to The David Project
