WASHINGTON, Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) will hold a phone-based national news event at 11:30 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 to issue the 2014 edition of its closely watched State Energy Efficiency Scorecard. The major news event ranking the 50 states and D.C. will feature the Governor of Massachusetts and the president of the National Association Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC).
The ACEEE ranking will cover all 50 states and the District of Columbia, with special attention paid to the top 10 states, the five states with the most need for improvement, and the four states showing the biggest movement up the rankings since the 2013 edition of the report. The states in the spotlight are (in alphabetical order): Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Dakota, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
The results of the annual ACEEE scorecard have helped spur a number of states to pursue major improvements in energy efficiency policies.
