Who Would Like to Live on Mars? IQPolls, the Interactive Audience Survey System, Recorded the Results at Login 2013
VILNIUS, Lithuania, April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Interactive audience survey results have shown that more than one third of attendees of Login 2013, the most popular progress conference in the Baltic, are determined to leave Earth and explore Mars. The data was collected during a presentation in Vilnius by Bas Lansdorp, Mars-One co-founder, who presented his project to establish human habitation on Mars in the forthcoming decade, by asking conference participants if they would like to leave Earth and travel to live on Mars.

Attendees of Login 2013, an annual conference held to discuss internet communication innovations, were some of the first in the world to be given the opportunity to express their opinions and thoughts in real time using interactive audience survey system IQPolls. Attendees of the two-day conference responded to 56 questions related to announcements and discussions. During the conference more than 3,000 votes were counted.
When listening to Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founder, more than 80 percent of the Login 2013 audience agreed that if you want to invent something new nowadays, a great deal of audacity and originality is needed. This opinion was expressed by participants who voted using their smartphones or tablet PCs.
"The system was used for the first time at the conference, with more than 3,000 participants gathered and voting within a few halls simultaneously. The system worked well and we are very pleased with it; we saw that we can now enter world conferences and offer them an innovative way of communicating with their audiences," one of IQ Polls' project partners, Arturas Jonkus, said.
According to Arnoldas Rogoznyj, founder and manager of the Login 2013 conference, this convenient online participants' survey will become common for conferences in the future: "I am happy that we had a chance to test the IQ Polls system now and we have achieved great results: both speakers and participants were surprised by the possibility to communicate in real time and to see every attendee's vote on the screen."
IQ Polls is a unique piece of software, created at the beginning of this year, which can poll an unlimited number of people simply and quickly, and summarize and present the results in real time. Participants connect to the system using their smart devices by reading a QR code and express their opinion by responding to coded questions. The system is convenient because attendees do not need to register or to identify themselves in any other way. Only those who know the survey ID or QR code can participate automatically in the survey.
