Chairman of Jin Yuan Flowers, a famous cut flower growing company in Yunnan, says that their sales revenue of cut flowers of 2014 Qixi Festival (Aug. 2, 2014) is over 200% of that of last year.

China's e-commerce market is advancing with leaps and bounds as well. For instance, when Alibaba proposed the concept of "Double 11 for the Single" in 2009, which makes Nov. 11 a shopping festival for all single persons in China, the turnover of that single day reached RMB0.05 billion. In only five years, the turnover of Alibaba achieved RMB57.1 billion, over 1000 times compared to that of 2009.

Judging from the planting size and output of Chinese flowers, China is ranking the top 1 in the world. However, if taking industrial efficiency into consideration, the average flower output per mu is only RMB6000-RMB8000, while those of flower advanced countries such as Holland reaches RMB180,000-RMB200,000. Currently, Chinese flower export volume is about RMB3 billion and that of Holland reaches RMB70 billion. Chinese flower industry has a bright future and also have a long way to go.
