AURORA, Ohio, June 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- With special activities planned for both days, Wildwater Kindgom will have plenty of things to see and do for dads and families during Father's Day Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 18 & 19.
Topping the events are appearances by the Cleveland Gladiator Goddesses and a crazy cat, a challenging hole-in-one contest and a concert by The Ready Set, sponsored by Pepsi, 96.5 KISS FM and Channel 3 in Cleveland.
To kick off the weekend festivities at the 17-acre outdoor waterpark in Aurora, 96.5 KISS FM will host a concert with The Ready Set on Saturday, June 18 at 1:30 p.m. on the Tidal Wave Bay wave pool deck. Jordan Witzigreuter, the force behind The Ready Set's pop sound, is a 20-year-old native of Fort Wayne, Ind., who began his singing career as an adolescent. His first single, Love Like Woe, launched his career. His first album will debut later this summer. Aaron LaFette will perform the opening act. LaFette is a Clevelander with the hit single, Wrapped Around My Finger.
The Ready Set is part of KISS FM, WKYC-TV Cleveland, The Klaben Auto Group and Pepsi's "Don't Text and Drive" campaign to encourage teens to put down the cell phone while driving.
The concert is free with general admission. However, the first 965 teens who submit their "Don't Text and Drive" pledge will receive a free ticket to the park that day from the 96.5 KISS FM booth. The text pledge form is available at the station's website: kisscleveland.com.
On Sunday, June 19, the Goddesses, the official dance team for Cleveland's arena football team, and their mascot, Rudi, Cleveland's craziest cat, will perform from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on the wave pool deck. Plus, guests will also be able to enjoy the music of the Conga Tones, a two-man band specializing in classic and contemporary songs, throughout the day.
Guests will also be able to compete in the Home Depot Hole-In-One contest with a $1000 Home Depot Gift Card up for grabs. All players will also automatically be entered in a drawing to win a variety of other prizes. The contest will feature a "bunker" shot out of the sand. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization that builds and rehabilitates homes for needy families.
Wildwater Kingdom will also offer a special "Dine with Dad" catered meal for dads and their families on Sunday, June 19 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Lakeside Pavilions. For $11.99 (per person) or $9.99 (Juniors, under 48-inches tall, or season passholders), guests will receive a meal with hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, watermelon, baked beans and Pepsi soft drinks. Tickets can be purchased at the Lakeside Pavilions.
