Will OpenTable Survive? Eat24 Releases iPad App
Online ordering service makes ordering food delivery way too easy
SAN FRANCISCO, April 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Eat24.com, the Internet's favorite food delivery platform, announced today the release of a groundbreaking new iPad app that allows users to order from over 20,000 interactive restaurant menus in more than 1,000 cities nationwide. The simple, intuitive Eat24 app gives users access to all the features of the main site right on their iPad, as well as a few app-exclusives. Leaving the house to eat may be a thing of the past.
"We love OpenTable because, like us, they bring people and food closer together," says Eat24 Co-Founder Nadav Sharon. "But once you make a reservation, you still need to put on pants, call a babysitter, look for parking or find a cab. Sometimes you just don't want to leave the couch, and that's where the Eat24 iPad app comes in."
The company, who keeps in constant contact with customers on social media, rarely receives anything but positive feedback. Lately however, many users have complained that Eat24 has made ordering food too easy. "We are lazy people," says Nadav, "so I guess you could say that we built the app for ourselves. I'm not going to apologize for the inconvenience of our convenience. Ordering food delivery should be this easy."
The brand new app includes several features that take advantage of the iPad's built-in camera. With Eat24 Notes, users can take photos of their food and add notes to remind themselves what to order, or not order next time. Credit card scan is another impressive feature. Similar to mobile check deposits, a single tap automatically scans and securely stores credit card information, rounding out the already impressive array of payment options supported by the app, including cash, credit card, PayPal, Eat24's credit rewards program, and coupon codes.
Just like the iPhone and Android app, the iPad app includes integration of 24/7 live chat support, which allows users to chat with Eat24's legendary customer service staff right from their iPad to make order changes, get status updates, and handle any issue that may come up.
The Eat24 iPad app is available now for free on the Apple App Store. It allows users to search for a specific cuisine, restaurant or even a particular dish. It remembers user preferences such as favorite restaurants, payment information and past orders for easy re-ordering, which means you can make dinner happen without ever leaving the house.
"You just perfected the butt groove in your couch," says Nadav. "Why ruin a good thing?" Download the Eat24 iPad app now.
