Willamette MBA program redefines lifelong learning with new alumni benefit
SALEM, Ore., June 25, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Alumni of Willamette University's MBA programs now have the opportunity to come back and take classes free of charge for life. The Willamette MBA for Life program, launching in fall 2013, allows graduates to register for select courses in the school's full time and evening MBA programs in Salem and Portland, Ore.
"Earning an MBA at the Atkinson School begins a lifelong relationship and is an investment that provides returns throughout our graduates' careers," said Debra J. Ringold, dean and JELD-WEN professor of free enterprise. "By adding this benefit we're demonstrating our genuine commitment to lifelong learning in a concrete way."
The new program is a direct result of conversations between the school's administrators and alumni who asked for opportunities to complement and enrich their MBA experiences at Willamette.
"As our graduates have advanced in their careers and taken on more responsibilities, they are looking for opportunities to continue their professional development and growth," Ringold added. "The Willamette MBA for Life program is a way to provide them with the continuing education they desire as well as an opportunity to reconnect with our school and faculty."
Graduates participating in the Willamette MBA for Life program are registered for courses just like regular students and are expected to attend class and complete all assignments and deliverables. Their grades appear on official transcripts and are calculated into their overall GPA.
The Willamette MBA program also offers programming for alumni around the world through a virtual book club, webinars on current management topics and global networking events.
