Hubbard has 22 years of experience designing modular cryogenic gas processing plants. He joins Willbros from Hydrocarbon Processing Technology, LLC, a company he founded in 1992. While with Hydrocarbon Processing Technology, Hubbard was responsible for overseeing the design, fabrication and installation of gas processing, gas treating and nitrogen rejection plants. Additionally, he provided engineering consultation and design services for gas processing clients including: Conoco, Mustang Engineering and Allen Process Systems.
Based in Tulsa, Okla., Hubbard will be responsible for leading the technical development of the Company's gas processing plant offerings. Notably, as part of Willbros' new service offerings, he has designed a standardized, modular, cryogenic plant that is designed for the hydrocarbon mix and infrastructure availability found in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays.
The design will be provided in 60, 120 and 200 MMscfd configurations and offer operators advantages including: a smaller plant footprint that saves land acquisition costs, a design that allows for easier module installation and maintenance by providing easier access to serviceable components; and an alternate ethane recovery mode that optimizes propane recovery. The alternate ethane recovery mode will also allow operators to capture greater value from gas stream resulting in higher propane recoveries.
"Willbros has more than 100 years of experience with pipelines and related facilities, including certain gas processing projects," said Jerrit Coward, Willbros Executive Vice President. "We want to couple that with the expertise and experience Hubbard brings to the Company's robust engineering and construction capabilities. We are now positioned to offer customers a single-vendor solution to deliver a complete plant – ranging from product receipt pipelines, tanks and plant components to the balance of the plant, and we can also provide complete plant life cycle maintenance."
Hubbard earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa. He is a member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and the Gas Processors Suppliers Association (GPSA).
