William Loveland College Premieres as a Not-For-Profit, Degree-Granting Institution After Three Years of Transition
In addition to offering certificate programs in logistics management through the Institute of Logistical Management vocational division, William Loveland College offers a premier, peer-reviewed MBA program that delivers up-to-date curriculum to business practitioners.
LOVELAND, Colo., Sept. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- It took over three years to transition the Institute of Logistical Management (ILM) to William Loveland College (WLC). In addition to transforming the vocational school to meet degree granting requirements, ILM had to transition out of the for-profit business model and into a functioning not-for-profit model. "It took what seemed like forever for our new MBA program to move through our peer review process, the Colorado state review, and the review of our national accreditor," commented WLC Founder Dr. David Lady. "The three years was spent traversing the different regulator bodies that govern the education space as well as transforming the organization into our new operating model."

"My goal here is to build out a school that develops the business leaders of tomorrow from today's business experts," continued Dr. Lady. "We don't recruit kids out of high school or straight out of college. Our philosophy is that tomorrow's leaders will come from the managers and aspiring managers of today."
The Institute of Logistical Management (ILM) continues as a division of the college, and continues to provide courses and certification tracks for logistics practitioners, as it has done for almost 100 years. Both WLC and ILM offer substantially low tuition, some of the lowest in North America and competitive with any country in the world.
"However, this isn't the end of the journey; it is just the beginning for William Loveland College. We have a strategic plan and a vision that we will build out over the next several years. We will mold WLC to become the school that I wanted to go to, including, ultimately, for undergraduate work," continued Dr. Lady. "I do not deal well with wasting time or having attendance count as part of the grade. I need to be able to manage myself and get the work done, period, then on to the next. For some reason in education today, everything is just so slow, and I think many brilliant people just get bored and move on. Our mission here is to provide the education and business credentials people need at their own pace, not ours."
