Willie Colon Returns Home for Annual Turkeys and Toys Giveaway
The Holly Foundation to host event
NEW YORK, Nov. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- New York Jets Alumni Willie Colon returns home to his neighborhood Melrose Projects in the South Bronx for his annual turkeys and toys giveaway. Willie, along with current and former New York Jets, will distribute 150+ turkeys and dressings to the senior citizens in his home community. Expected to be in attendance are fellow NFL Players David Harris, Quincy Enunwa, Breno Giacomini, Wesley Johnson and more.
The event will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the BronxWorks Classic Center (formerly Nycha Classic Center Melrose). Doors open for participants at 9:00am. Media is welcomed from 9:00am-11:00am. This event includes hot breakfast served by Colon's family, a live DJ and a raffle with prizes. This is an event the community looks forward to every Thanksgiving season. Along with the turkey giveaway, toys are collected and will be distributed in December before Christmas to children in the Bronx and Harlem communities.
Willie Colon is dedicated to helping improve the conditions and quality of life for the underprivileged and underserved not only in his community in the Bronx, but in similar circumstanced communities across the country.
