NEW YORK, Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- KIWI magazine welcomes parents and schools participating in National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day on October 16, 2013 to enter to win one of three $1,000 grants for their child's school. National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day is a nationwide event that highlights what's great about school lunch and what goes into putting together a healthy meal every day.

The grants, made possible by the Whole Kids Foundation, will go toward helping to improve the lunch program at the winning schools. Participants can visit myhealthyschool.com/lunchday-contest to enter and read the official rules.

National Take Your Parents to Lunch Day, which is supported by the School Nutrition Association and co-sponsored by Rudi's Organic Bakery, Rudi's Gluten-Free Bakery, and the Whole Kids Foundation, is a grassroots effort to bring families together with schools to share a lunchtime meal. It's a day for parents to visit their child's schools and have lunch with them in the cafeteria – and see the healthy initiatives schools are implementing.
