WinCo Foods Announces its Entry into the Dallas - Ft. Worth Market as it Opens Stores in Ft. Worth and McKinney, Texas

BOISE, Idaho, Feb. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods, LLC announced today that it will open its first discount supermarkets in the State of Texas at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6th.  The Ft.Worth store is located at 8000 Crowley Lane and the McKinney store is located at 1800 N. Graves St.  The stores are each approximately 95,000 square feet in size and include WinCo's newest decor package creating an efficient, clean feel that highlights product and coordinates nicely with the hundreds of WinCo Foods private label products the company has recently introduced.  The Ft. Worth store will initially employ approximately 180 individuals, 170 of which have been hired locally and the McKinney store will open with approximately 170 employees, 160 hired locally.

WinCo Foods is an employee owned discount grocery chain known primarily for being the supermarket low price leader in each market it serves.  Ft. Worth Store Manager, Casey Ray, transfers to the store from Roy, Utah and has been with the company for 13 years.  McKinney Store Manager, Hollie Keller, transfers to the store from Kent, Washington and is a 25 year veteran with WinCo Foods.  The management teams and crew at each store are excited about the opportunity to open the first WinCo stores in Texas and the store managers indicate that excitement for the new stores is building among potential customers in each community.  As employee owners, all of us here at WinCo look forward to helping each community get to know us by providing great pricing and a great customer experience for all of our new friends. 

The stores feature WinCo's "Wall of Values" at the entry, which has particularly good pricing on a wide variety of popular items.  The main sales floor of each store encompasses a large fresh produce department, bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood, and bakery service departments.  The unique bulk foods department allows customers to buy only the amount they want and displays over 900 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies, cereals, flours, pastas, spices and more.  We are excited for customers to come in to check out the new stores and to benefit from the everyday low pricing and quality that WinCo Foods is known for.
