Window Closing for U.S. Direct Mail Companies to Take Full Advantage of 2-5% Postage Discount Using Google Ad Software
CLEARWATER, Fla., March 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- A new United States Postal Service (USPS) discount program, which grants 2-5% off postage costs to US-based direct mail companies and their clients, is under way.
Official DirectMail2.0 partners will qualify for these discounts on all mail that is sent between March 1, 2017 – Aug. 31, 2017 with DirectMail2.0 technology. This could total tens of thousands in savings.
DirectMail2.0 is a white-label software that enables direct mail companies to automatically integrate phone call tracking (which counts and records each call), mail delivery tracking and online ads through the Google network to their clients' direct mail campaigns. The software comes ready-to-use and shows results in real-time.
The Postal Service has qualified DirectMail2.0-enhanced campaigns for this discount in recognition of the value of direct mail and enhanced technology integration. Of note:
Marketers who combine direct mail with DirectMail2.0 add-ons increased their monthly new customer count by 81%. Because DirectMail2.0 users see significantly better results from their campaigns, they mail more often ¾ a win for both direct mail companies and the USPS.
The Postal Service is billing this promotion as their "Digital to Direct Mail" experience, which features two separate discount promotions. The first, the Emerging and Advanced Technology program, offers 2% off postage for first-class mail from March 1 – Aug. 31, 2017. The second is the Direct Mail Starter program, which offers 5% off postage (up to 10,000 pieces) to businesses and nonprofits who are not currently using direct mail, and runs from May 1 – July 31, 2017.
Because of the postage discounts, DirectMail2.0 has been inundated with partner requests and encourages direct mail companies hoping to capitalize on the USPS discounts to act quickly, before they are gone.
"Printers and mail houses were already lining up to become DirectMail2.0 partners," said CEO Brad Kugler. "Now that Postal Service has recognized its value with these incentives, companies who were maybe on the fence are hopping onboard."
It takes up to three business days to become a DirectMail2.0 partner, so direct mail companies are urged to sign on now to be up and running in time to take full advantage of the postage discounts.
