PHOENIX, Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Nearly 1,000 college-bound students submitted applications to the Financial Service Centers of America's 13th annual scholarship program earlier this year. Two winners of this nationwide contest are from the Greater Phoenix area, both receiving $2,000 scholarships. ACE Cash Express, a leading retailer of financial services and member of FiSCA, helped with the selection and presentation.
One of the award recipients is Angela Kaitschuck of Mesa. Joined by her parents, Angela met ACE's Southwest Region Vice President, Kim Montgomery, at an ACE store to be presented with the scholarship. Angela graduated from Skyline High School and plans to attend the Honor's College at the University of Arizona this fall. ACE Cash Express then awarded Shivani Kothari of Scottsdale with a $2,000 scholarship.
"The ACE Community Fund values the importance of education and is glad to participate in FiSCA's scholarship program," said ACE's SVP of Public Affairs, Eric Norrington.
Shivani graduated from Basis Scottsdale and plans to study mathematics at Northwestern University. State Representative Michelle Ugenti joined her constituent Shivani, her parents and ACE representatives at the lunch presentation in Shivani's hometown of Scottsdale.
"I feel honored to be a part of the educational investments that FiSCA makes and I truly appreciate their ability to recognize dedication and hard work and reward it," Shivani said.
Both recipients were chosen for their remarkable academic and extracurricular achievements. ACE Cash Express and the Financial Service Centers of America continue to support efforts that encourage higher education.
