Winter is No Time to Stay Indoors!

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine, Feb. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine is pleased to announce its first ever "Winter Family Fitness Day" on Monday, February 21st at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester.

From 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., free admission to the facility along with free equipment rentals (while supplies last) as well as free snacks will be offered to anyone in search of some winter fun. In addition, complimentary winter hats will be given to the first 500 children 12 and under, who attend; all courtesy of Anthem and Pineland Farms.

"We strongly feel that physical fitness and exercise is an important component of one's daily routine, no matter what the season," said Jeffrey Holmstrom, D.O., medical director, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine.  "From skiing to skating to snow-shoeing, our state offers a wonderful array of winter options and with the proper planning and equipment; everyone can safely enjoy a variety of winter sports."

Pineland Farms offers a broad range of activities aimed at children, adults, and seniors.  Attendees on "Winter Family Fitness Day" can skate, cross country ski, snow shoe, or make use of Pineland's sledding hill.
