IRVINE, Calif., May 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As the only wireless speaker system of its kind to incorporate both standard 5.8 Ghz wireless and Bluetooth technology, the WIOS-5.8 is a portable powerhouse of sound. Designed by Wolverine Data, the new speakers work flawlessly in any environment, indoor or out. In addition, the WIOS-5.8's sleek form factor makes it an understatedly stylish component – whether one is celebrating through the night or just quietly relaxing with a meditative soundscape.
"We set out to give consumers an expandable and modular stereo surround sound experience that rivals anything else on the market," explained Matt Mardini, President of Wolverine Data. "We've succeeded with the WIOS-5.8, an innovative new design that boasts every feature one might expect in a wireless stereo system. The most significant benefit of the system, though, is that it combines both standard wireless capability with a Bluetooth receiver in the transmitter."
So many wireless speaker solutions leave consumers feeling disappointed because they don't live up to their hype. The WIOS-5.8, on the other hand, features a normal range of 200 feet between transmitter and speakers; with a clear line of sight, the transmitter can even send audio signals up to 262 feet via 5.8 Ghz wireless – far enough to turn a large backyard into an arena of sound. The complete system also comes with three AC power adapters and an audio cable for connecting devices to the transmitter via a headphone jack.
While it comes standard with two 10W speakers, the WIOS-5.8 system is expandable; up to six additional speakers can easily fill a room or patio with virtual stereo sound. Users can control the transmitter from a distance with the included remote control. Furthermore, with the WIOS-5.8 you can also attach an optional Wireless Receiver box where you can add your existing Sound System or amplified speakers into the WIOS-5.8 wireless sound system.
With both battery and AC power functionality, the WIOS-5.8 embodies portability. Each speaker features a flip-up carry handle. What really makes them portable, however, is their wireless capability. Wired speakers are inevitably fixed – sometimes even requiring holes to be drilled in walls. The WIOS-5.8 offers the same fidelity of sound without the hassle of wires. Moreover, because it's weather resistant, owners who want to enjoy stereo sound by the pool or on the boat need not worry about moisture wrecking the party.
A modern speaker system is only as good as the variety of devices to which it can connect. Wolverine Data has absolutely taken this fact to heart, making the WIOS-5.8 system compatible with all major smartphones, MP3 players, stereo receivers, TVs and PCs. Furthermore, the transmitter has an integrated Bluetooth receiver so that any Bluetooth-capable device can establish a connection, making for a 100% wireless experience.
Wolverine Data has developed and marketed a wide range of consumer electronics products, and the WIOS-5.8 represents another big step forward in portable, wireless stereo systems.
