MILWAUKEE, Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, September 25, associates from Wipfli, a top 25 advisory and accounting firm, stepped away from their desks and into their communities for the firm's 21st annual Community Day tradition that reflects the firm's enduring commitment to service and connection.
"Community Day is more than a volunteer day, it's a living example of our 'One Wipfli' spirit," said Kurt Gresens, CEO, Wipfli Advisory LLC. "It's how we walk the talk, live our values and make a lasting impact in the communities we're proud to be part of, across the U.S. and India."
A culture of giving, rooted in action
At Wipfli, giving back is woven into the fabric of the firm's culture. Associates are encouraged to pursue their own passions through flexible volunteer time, nonprofit board service and donation matching programs. Community Day amplifies this spirit, offering a shared moment for teams to unite around which causes that matter most.
This year, more than 1,000 Wipfli associates in 25 offices contributed over 3,200 hours to 67 nonprofits. They supported efforts ranging from fighting hunger in their communities, building affordable housing, beautifying local parks and improving animal welfare. Whether packing meals in Minneapolis or building homes in Rockford, employees demonstrated the firm's values of integrity, caring, excellence, teamwork and perseverance.
Stories that inspire
From Denver to Detroit, associates shared powerful moments of connection and impact:
- In St. Louis, Missouri, Whitney Fossum helped pack and sort food with her teammates at the STL Foodbank. "Putting together all those fresh food donations is simple work, but it does a world of good in our area for those who need it."
- In Portland, Maine, Blake Potter and her teammates cleaned out stables and barns for the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals. "These horses need a lot of care, and rolling up our sleeves to do some dirty work was a great reset for me."
- Heather Noto in Green Bay, Wisconsin, spent the day at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore sorting and cleaning donated home goods. "Every item we sort or shelf helps someone in need — that's a good way to spend a day."
Investing in impact
The Wipfli Foundation gifted more than $106,000 to associates through its Community Support Program, empowering them to donate to nonprofits of their choosing. This initiative reflects the firm's belief that service is not just a value — but a responsibility.
Wipfli's community involvement spans decades and includes partnerships with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Feeding America and Native American Connections. Associates are encouraged to find volunteer opportunities that align with their passions — from food banks and shelters to tribal and veteran groups.
