With $1 Million in Funding, Mobile Delivery Company Kanga Readies to Launch

ATLANTA, Feb. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Kanga, a pioneering crowdsourced delivery platform is poised for it's upcoming launch in the Atlanta market and will immediately relegate antiquated delivery systems to the past. Leveraging crowdsourcing, one of the fastest growing business trends adopted by large- and small-scale companies alike, Kanga seeks to disrupt the $86 billion courier and local delivery service industry. The startup, jointly led by veteran entrepreneurs Scott Miller of Payleap and Everett Steele of Baby Robot Industries, today announces the closing of its seed round funding which will be used to open its mobile application and delivery platform to consumers in late March 2014. To date, the company received $1 million in funding fueling the development of its mobile technology and entry into emerging markets.

Unlike other local delivery platforms, Kanga harnesses the depth and breadth of the crowd, tapping into consumer demand. Through mobile crowdsourcing technology, Kanga allows consumers to place an order, which quickly prompts local drivers to bid for delivery service. After the consumer selects the preferred driver, an order dispatches the delivery location and timeframe. Kanga also benefits local or independent retailers seeking a competitive edge over Internet retail giants by offering affordable professional delivery services.
