With a focus on philanthropy, the 2018 Global Trend Conference takes place in Beijing
The event highlights a culture that embraces public welfare as a path to a better future
BEIJING, Dec. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- It has become the mission and responsibility of Chinese companies to pull together for a common cause by engaging in philanthropy, which is also the cultural driving force for the steady development of the Chinese economy. The 2018 Global Trend Conference co-hosted by Global Times and Huanqiu.com, was held in Beijing on December 28, 2018. The conference included a forum entitled "Harmony and Philanthropy" at which industry leaders and experts in philanthropy engaged in in-depth discussions on corporate social responsibility as well as the importance and uniqueness of Chinese revolutionary culture and the role that the culture can play in today's affairs. The attendees also participated in the launch ceremony of Global Trends Institute at which Huanqiu.com announced its three key objectives for 2019: presenting the historically significant documentary I'm going to Yan'an, launching the 2019 Global Military Fans Cultural Festival and holding the 2019 Sino-Euro CEO Dialogue Show.
By special invitation, Fu Changbo, director of the China Global Philanthropy Institute in Shenzhen, delivered the opening speech entitled "Embracing the new era where business benefits society" and Zhang En, executive secretary of China CSR 100 Forum, gave the speech on "Addition, subtraction and multiplication of corporate social responsibility". Distinguished guests and leaders, including Zhang Jianru, director of Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall, Major General Yao Youzhi, former director of the Department of Strategic Studies at the Academy of Military Science of the People's Liberation Army, Major General Li Guoru, former deputy director of the Publicity Department within the People's Liberation Army General Political Department, were invited to a newly-created roundtable at which they engaged in a discourse on the spiritual meaning behind the term "inheriting the red gene", enabling the fostering of a noble revolutionary spirit and a respect for discipline in the hearts and minds of a new generation of young adults and teenagers.
