DENVER, May 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- It's a disturbing reality that over 50% of marriages now end in divorce although it is that statistic that led two divorcees to create BitterSweetBreakups.com (http://bittersweetbreakups.com), a brand new startup just launched.

The website offers a refreshingly light, intimate feel for those seeking direction, refuge and recovery from heartache. From encouragement and advice delivered in a positive and empowering way from real women that have been there, to fun divorce gifts, Bittersweet Breakups has created a real gem that extends beyond practical advice and into a complete support system for women.
The site offers an exclusive Divorce Gift Registry where the divorcee can register for the 50% of household items she lost in the divorce. It even allows for one to request cash (which can help with attorney fees, moving expenses, etc) in a tasteful, less direct way. Also on the site is The Breakup Room, a social media gathering spot to get further support from other woman going through the same process.
Bittersweet Breakups offers ideas for planning a divorce party complete with printable Divorce Vows and pictures of divorce themed cakes that can be taken to your local bakery for replication. "Divorce in itself may not be cause for celebration, but when you can get past the bitter and come to a place of acceptance and the peace that comes with that, why not celebrate closure, the growth you have experienced as a person and the beginning of your new life ahead," adds Thelma, one of the founders of Bittersweet Breakups.
The site provides resources for what you may need in the process from Legal Advice, Life Coaching, Realtors and more at discounted fees.
Also featured is the "Single and Sexy Challenge" which is a healthy, do-able jumpstart dietary plan to help shed those marital pounds and get your pre-marriage body back! "When you get through the emotional process of divorce, your 'whole person' needs an overhaul. It is a time where you really need to re-discover and nurture yourself. Our content focuses on the mind, body and soul to bring all three back in balance so that women begin this next chapter in their lives from a healthier place," says Thelma.
Thelma and Louise (co-owners' "stage names"), the founders of Bittersweet Breakups, met in their early 20s on a cruise ship, both there to celebrate their honeymoons. A combined total of seven kids and three divorces later, the two women decided to use their own experiences as a way to support other women facing this life upset.
"It was our sense of humor that enabled us to bounce back from these breakups. We seemed to always be able to make each other laugh in the darkest of times and get the other to see the bright side of our loss," says Louise. "Although a divorce is no laughing matter, at some point, sooner than later, you have to pick yourself up, dust off and begin to think of the possibilities ahead. Maybe you did not have control over the situation, but you do have control over your response to it, and that is a big part of what we want other women to get from our site," adds Thelma.
What started out as simply an idea from two women (spa-ing in a Vegas Spa) for a retail store that carries humorous divorce gifts and inspiration has evolved into something much more. "There are so many different things we want to add to this site and it will continue to evolve long after our initial launch. Stay tuned," Thelma adds with an air of excitement.
