Wolf Rifkin Adds, Promotes Across Music, Environmental, Real Estate Groups
Jay-Jay Lord, Christopher Mixson now Partners as Daniel Wiesel joins in L.A.
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Business law firm Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin has elevated two attorneys to Partner and added a senior associate to its growing teams across Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Reno.
The changes involve multiple specialty areas across the firm. Music industry professional and transactional attorney Jay-Jay Lord in Los Angeles becomes a Partner within the Entertainment & Intellectual Property practice, while Christopher Mixson in Las Vegas and Reno makes partner in the Environmental & Natural Resources Law And Litigation practice.

Lord, who has a Bachelor's in Music Business from the University of the Pacific and a J.D. from Southwestern, spent nine years in the artist development, sales and marketing departments for such prominent music companies as A&M Records, MCA Records and Fanscape as well as the licensing department for the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) prior to entering the practice of law. He now represents various individuals and corporate clients in a variety of entertainment and licensing related matters.
Mixson earned his Bachelor's from University of Evansville in Indiana and a J.D., and a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law, from Lewis & Clark Law School. He represents clients in water rights disputes, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) litigation, and permitting matters before environmental agencies and courts.
Joining in the Los Angeles office as a Senior Associate in the Real Estate practice is Daniel Wiesel. A UCLA Law School grad, Wiesel comes over from Norton Rose Fulbright where he served as bond, borrower's and underwriter's counsel in connection with taxable and tax-exempt financing transactions for nonprofit organizations, including nonprofit healthcare organizations and other 501(c)3 organizations, as well as senior living facility developers and operators.
