Women in Wireless and Girls in Tech to Host Panel on Privacy and the Mobile Landscape

BOSTON, May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Women in Wireless, an organization that promotes and develops female leaders in mobile and digital media, and Girls in Tech, a global non-profit organization focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of women in technology, today announced a panel discussion that will explore the challenges of privacy in the mobile industry.

The panel discussion, "Mobile Advertising Today and a Vision for the Future: Lessons Learned in Attribution, Measurement, and Privacy," will be held on May 3, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at the Venture Cafe in the Cambridge Innovation Center.

Smartphone users are sharing more and more information with applications. From music preferences to geolocation and photo sharing, the question of privacy and what is being done with personal information is a pressing topic today. In addition, recent news of Apple's deprecation of commonly used device IDs (UDIDs) had led many in the industry contemplating their next move and wondering how tracking can exist in the realm of privacy protection. The panel, sponsored by Fiksu and JumpTap, will address these challenges and discuss their impact on the industry today.

Panelists will include:
Jo Wightman, director of client services, Fiksu;
Ash Nadkarni, co-founder, App Guppy;
Adam Towvim, vice president, business development, Jumptap; and
Johnny Won, mobile & gaming platforms manager, Hill Holliday.

The panel will be moderated by Vicky Wu Davis, CEO & founder of FrogHop Inc.
