PALM HARBOR, Fla., July 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- This year marks the 25th anniversary of Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Randall Harrell, of Fountain of Youth Institute, performing Breast Augmentations in his practice. Dr. Harrell recently performed a digital breast visualization study and the results of the study go against the trend for the last twenty-five years. Dr. Harrell commented on his training, noting when the inventor of the Breast Implant, Dr. Frank Gerow, trained him, the focus was on a result that mimics a natural looking breast. However, the study revealed that not only has preferences changed, but a whopping 70% of women chose "Top-Shelf" Breast Enhancement.*
Dr. Harrell said "This trend has taken the breast implant companies by surprise after they have spent 25 years developing a tear drop implant that only 12% of women want".
Women fell into the following categories when choosing their preferred breast shape when visualization completed:
- 70% chose the "Top Shelf" look
- 21% chose the "in-Between look"
- 12% chose the "Natural Look
The different breast look options are defined below:
- Top Shelf Look: Round Breast Shape instead of U shape or oval shape, very defined cleavage and breast shape from the top
- In-Between Look: Oval breast shape that is between the round and U shaped breast, cleavage and top of breast moderately defined
- Natural Look: U breast shape instead of round, top of breast not defined
The trend is also seen in Sports Bar Restaurants. Restaurants who highlight their staff with "TOP SHELF BREASTS" are being coined "Breastaurants". This is capitalizing on the tremendous popularity of large breast implants which gives a "Fake" look to the breast. Fox News recently did a story on Breastaurants and the hooters photo shown is exactly the "Top Shelf" look: http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/06/24/breastaurants-like-twin-peaks-and-hooters-are-busting-out-all-over/?intcmp=ob_article_sidebar_video&intcmp=obinsite
Dr. Harrell explains: "Some women say they want a natural look so they do not appear to be too risque. However, when they see the visualized image on themselves…they change their mind and pick the 'Top Shelf' option. This is also one of the reasons why these types of restaurants are gaining new customers."
