Wordsmith Media, Inc. and Highland Loch Press Announce New Book in Association with Wordsmith Academic Press
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Aug. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Wordsmith Media, Inc. (Pink Sheets:WDIS) and Highland Loch Press announced today the release of its first academic publication in association with Wordsmith Media's academic division, Wordsmith Academic Press.
Wordsmith Media, Inc. announced in March that it had acquired 49% of Highland Loch Press and the partnership continues to expand its publishing presence, now in association with Wordsmith Academic Press. This first academic book of the partnership is entitled, Analytic Theology: A Bibliography by SMU professor, Dr. William J. Abraham and is available in both hardcopy and E-book format at Amazon.com (www.amazon.com/dp/098531026X ) where a description of the book is provided.
From its beginnings and especially through its award-winning publication, Sacred History Magazine, Wordsmith Media, Inc. has partnered with key universities and academic professionals around the world and this new release in book form helps solidify the company's emergence into the university and academic book publishing world. Many university publishing houses have not been able to adapt to the new E-book arena and print fulfillment mechanisms, yet, the university and academic market continues to exhibit a high demand for instructional literature. Wordsmith Academic Press with Highland Loch Press is uniquely positioned to compete in this market with a vast array of university connections and authors leading the way.
It is estimated that there are nearly 5,000 colleges and universities in the U.S. and nearly 20,000 institutions of higher learning world-wide. In addition to the estimated 100,000 libraries in the U.S., and even a greater number around the world, including university libraries and book stores, the market for academic works is profound considering the number of titles needed for required reading in the classroom. Wordsmith Academic Press (WAP) is in a unique position to acquire and publish works by tenure-track professors with the standard "peer review" requirement given Wordsmith's long-established network in some of the top universities in the world. WAP is presently in the process of acquiring several book publishing agreements with university professors and the editing of these works have begun. Further, digital book printing with new and more efficient fulfillment mechanisms have greatly improved the publishing industry's ability to engage the market in addition to the ever-expanding E-book formats.
