Workmen's Circle MultiCare Center Recognized as Leaders in Deficiency Free Survey and Prevention of Hospital Readmission

NEW YORK, May 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Workmen's Circle MultiCare Center, a premiere healthcare facility located in the Bronx, has been recognized by Providigm, a provider of solutions that improve the quality of healthcare facility information technology, as the 2014 recipient of the Embracing Quality Award.

The healthcare facility led the way in both the Deficiency Free Survey and Prevention of Hospital Readmission categories, with zero deficiencies within the calendar year as well as less than a 5% readmission rate.  According to Providigm's website, to be considered a nominee, the QAPI (Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement) system provides the necessary data to examine each facility against the QAPI standards, as well as ensure that facility staff members are engaging in QAPI. The QAPI system is based on the Quality Indicator Survey (QIS) utilized by state agencies to ensure facilities are in compliance with all federal regulations for quality of care and life, with additional enhancements that go beyond survey readiness. Full Accreditation is awarded to nursing homes or centers that meet all four of these accreditation standards.
