The new gym is owned and operated by experienced multi-unit franchisee Mike King and his longtime business partner, Joshua Chandler. King has spent nearly two decades in the fitness industry, while Chandler brings a background in fitness and personal training. The Erwin location marks King's ninth Workout Anytime gym, with locations spanning across Florida, North Carolina and Tennessee.

King began his career in fitness working in sales for Life Time, where he spent over a decade gaining experience in the industry before deciding to pursue business ownership. In 2017, he began exploring franchise opportunities and was drawn to Workout Anytime's scalable model and mission of making fitness and wellness more accessible. Since then, King has focused his growth on bringing the concept to smaller and underserved communities where residents may have fewer convenient fitness options.

King opened his first Tennessee Workout Anytime location in Greeneville in 2020, which has since earned multiple awards within the franchise system and achieved record-setting revenue for the brand. As owner-operators, King and Chandler have continued to use their experience in the fitness industry to grow their portfolio while maintaining a hands-on approach within the communities their gyms serve.
