NEW YORK, Dec. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Worldwide demand for geosynthetics is expected to increase 6.1 percent per year through 2019 to 6.5 billion square meters. An acceleration of nonbuilding construction activity will fuel gains for geosynthetics. Further advances will arise from growing concerns regarding environmental protection and greater awareness of the performance advantages of geosynthetics in a wide variety of applications, allowing geosynthetics to gain market share at the expense of other geotechnical solutions, including organic erosion control blankets, aggregate, and compacted soil. Tranportation infrastructure market to post fastest gains

The transportation infrastructure market is expected to register the fastest gains through 2019, aided by the ongoing expansion of road and railway networks around the world and the increasing use of geosynthetics in these projects.
