NEW YORK, April 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AMD Alliance International (AMDAI) will host its annual global conference on April 16, 2011 in New York at Lighthouse International. The AMDAI annual meeting brings together the top minds in the field of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) to showcase a global commitment to improve quality and access to care for patients.

AMD is a chronic disease that affects 30 million people throughout the world - twice the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease. It is the leading cause of vision loss in the developed world and poses a substantial financial, patient, caregiver and health care burden.
