Wotif.com Will Ask Students to Sketch London Again in 2010
LONDON, May 25, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global online accommodation specialist Wotif.com (http://www.wotif.com) has announced that its annual student Art competition SketchLondon (http://www.sketchlondon.com) will run for a third consecutive year.
The competition is open to all students and - mostly due to social media being its sole source of promotion- has attracted a niche but very keen audience since it's inauguration in 2008. "It always surprises and impresses me just how good many of the entries are" Wotif European BDM GM James Coulbault told us "We receive a lot of the entries as j-pegs over e-mail but we also get a number of actual canvases that arrive in the post including one last year that was too big for standard delivery and we had to collect it from the local depot!"
The competition offers a prize of GBP250 cash plus a GBP100 Wotif.com voucher but the main draw for students has always been the fact that Wotif take the winning design and feature it as the face of their annual oyster ticket wallets promotion. These wallets are then distributed in their thousands at London train stations over the summer providing the artist with excellent exposure and giving them a solid addition to their C.V and portfolio. Last year's winner Matthew Wong told us that Sketch London offers a "great opportunity" to those who enter and that the competition "helped kick start his illustration career in a fantastic way."
This year's competition is open now and if you are interested in finding out more about the competition and how to enter then you can visit the Sketch London website (http://www.sketchlondon.com) for more details.
