WPG Americas Announces Distribution of Micron Accelerated Solutions
SAN JOSE, Calif., June 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- WPG Americas Inc. (WPGA), a subsidiary of WPG Holdings, Asia's number one electronics distributor, has announced today the decision to bring a new breed of server-based storage solutions powered by Micron Technology, Inc. to the IT enterprise.
Overcoming the issues of the traditional data center architecture, the new Micron Accelerated Solutions tightly integrates compute, networking and All Flash storage. Never-before-seen levels of performance and value are now available to customers who experience growing, continuous and complex data sets. To produce these solutions, Micron has partnered at an engineering and solution-selling level with Supermicro and VMWare, leading edge hardware and software companies.
As an authorized distributor for Micron and Supermicro, this addition to WPGA's robust product lines represents a natural next step towards providing total solutions to their customers, and with it, more evidence of WPGA's fierce commitment and investment into the enterprise space.

WPGA will begin offering the first VMware Virtual Ready Nodes to enable a state-of-the-art data center using all-flash storage, delivering compelling all-flash performance. Available for the first time in Virtual SAN 6.2 – and powered by Micron enterprise SSDs and advanced DRAM – these solutions provide predictable high performance. These Virtual SAN Ready Nodes offer up to 40x the IOPs and bandwidth and as low as 1/40th the latency of current hybrid VMWare Virtual SAN implementations that include traditional HDD.
Thanks to the Micron Accelerated Solutions architecture, the VMware Virtual SAN 6.2 can now take full advantage of all-flash data efficiency features like deduplication, compression and erasure - unlike the hybrid Virtual SAN 6.2 version. Because of this, the All-Flash Ready Nodes can be purchased for as low as $0.44/GB1, which includes the full MSRP of all server hardware, software and three-year support.
In addition to the full Supermicro ready node solution (including VMWare SW), WPGA will also sell the Supermicro HW and the appropriate Micron components should a customer want to roll the Micron ready solution themselves using VMWare Virtual SAN Micron reference architecture.
