Wright & Filippis Names Robert DeWolf as President

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Wright & Filippis CEO and Chairman of the Board Anthony (A.J.) Filippis announced today that the Board of Directors has approved his recommendation to appoint current company COO Robert (Bob) DeWolf, Jr., as the company's president.  DeWolf will assume the title immediately and report directly to Filippis.

Filippis, who had previously carried all three titles, said the change will allow him to spend less time managing operational details and more time on strategic growth and service expansion opportunities.  DeWolf will be responsible for all day-to-day operations of the company, which is celebrating its 70^th anniversary this year.

Filippis' father, Anthony (Tony) Filippis, Sr. co-founded the company in 1944. A.J. started his career at Wright & Filippis in 1968 as an orthotic and prosthetic technician. He later served as vice president from 1981-1997, and in 1997 succeeded his older brother Gene, as president.

With over 40 years of experience, DeWolf joined Wright & Filippis in 2011 as the company's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and later was appointed to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Prior to joining Wright & Filippis, DeWolf was CFO for Atmosphere Group, LLC and JAC Products, Inc. where he spent 22 years (1988-2010). His responsibilities included managing the Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources and Purchasing departments. He also served as administrative officer on all contractual issues, risk management/insurance matters and corporate secretary/treasurer for all legal entities.

A certificated public accountant (CPA), DeWolf received his Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Eastern Michigan University.
