WSOFNYC Adds Dec. 31 Post-Fight Fan Signing With MMA Legends Chuck Liddell And Randy Couture
NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- World Series of Fighting (www.WSOF.com) fans attending the historic New Year's Eve event will get an extra treat. In addition to the eleven-bout card, highlighted by four championship fights, fans will have an opportunity to meet two legends of the sport. UFC Hall of Famers Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture will host a signing from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Theatre at Madison Square Garden.
"We are excited to have two of the sport's most beloved and accomplished fighters on hand to meet our fans after WSOFNYC," said World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo. "It will be a great honor to have them there following our historic event."
Liddell and Couture will be joined at the signing by two-time Olympic gold medalist and WSOF brand ambassador Kayla Harrison as well as newly-minted Martial Arts Hall of Famer Sefo.
Liddell is one of the most iconic fighters to ever lace up a pair of MMA gloves. His signature Mohawk and "sprawl and brawl" style endeared him to fans around the globe. His trilogy with Couture is one of the most memorable in the history of the sport.
Couture was the first man to win UFC belts in two different weight classes when he defeated Tito Ortiz in 2003 to claim the light heavyweight title. He also had a pair of heavyweight championship reigns during his outstanding career.
Harrison won gold in Judo at both the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. She is undoubtedly the best judoka to represent the United States. She will be making her broadcast debut earlier in the evening when she calls the action for WSOFNYC.
Sefo is the president of WSOF and a legendary fighter who has competed in just about every discipline of professional combat. Sefo has won multiple titles in Muay Thai and competed in the prestigious K-1 World Grand Prix eight times.
In advance of the historic event, the stars of WSOFNYC will participate in a special press conference hosted by WSOF CEO Carlos Silva and President Ray Sefo. The event will take place on Thursday, December 29 at 1 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden in Chase Square. Free admission for this press conference will be available to fans beginning at 12 p.m.
