xG Technology CN3200 Dual Band Routing Modem Receives FCC Certification
Latest Product Innovation Delivers Enhanced Range, Throughput and Value
SARASOTA, Fla., Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- xG Technology, Inc. ("xG" or the "Company") (Nasdaq: XGTI, XGTIW), a developer of intelligent software defined wireless communications and spectrum sharing technologies, has announced that the CN3200 Dual Band Routing Modem ("CN3200") has received certification from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The certification allows xG Technology to begin delivery of this industry-leading technology throughout the U.S. to both current and prospective customers.
The CN3200 is a compact subscriber device that operates in both the 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz spectrum bands and takes the innovative xMax private mobile wireless broadband networking technology to a new level of range, performance, and value. With a range of up to 5 miles and throughput speed up to 20 Mbps, the CN3200 allows the delivery of both fixed location high data rates and reliable high-speed mobility in the same system at a fraction of the cost of other mobile networking technologies.
According to Scott Garlington, VP of Engineering at xG Technology, the CN3200 uses novel interprotocol smart-routing algorithms to automatically determine the best frequency to use based on network availability. "Voice calls are prioritized in the 900 MHz band while video and data are prioritized in the 2.4 GHz band," Garlington said. "The user experience is completely seamless, providing high speed data and voice communications without latency or echo." Garlington added that the CN3200 provides built-in redundancy with automatic failover to keep data flowing. "If the 2.4 GHz frequencies become slow or unusable because of interference or congestion, the CN3200 automatically routes traffic to the 900 MHz band," he said.
The CN3200 includes all the performance achievements that have made xMax a compelling choice as a private mobile wireless system, including:
- An open architecture that allows you to use any smart phone, tablet, laptop, IP camera, or other IP-enabled device so there are no expensive end user devices to buy
- An end-to-end IP architecture that allows you to use any application including VPNs and advanced Internet encryption
- Patented interference mitigation technologies that keep your communications clear, precise, and always available.
- Multiple backhaul options including Ethernet, microwave, WiFi, and SATCOM
- Flexible deployment in fixed, mobile, expeditionary, and aerial configurations
